Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.
At the same time, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.
Russian forces has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.
"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.
He said that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.
Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.
A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.
Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.
Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were wounded.
The strikes come after evenings of air raids in the region, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.
All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.
National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with strikes already affecting energy systems.
Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
