19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
This marks the player's first trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since March of that year.
The win also indicates he has won 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.
But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent defended 4 early chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, he secured victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
